CompanyGPT Integration MCP server: streamable HTTP

Use Wrike with AI via MCP

Wrike keeps the projects, tasks and schedules of entire departments in one place. Wrike's official, generally available MCP server opens that data up to AI agents in CompanyGPT – no exports, no intermediate copies, and always with the permissions of the connected account.

What is Wrike?

Wrike is a work management platform for running projects and tasks. Spaces, folders, projects, tasks and subtasks map work hierarchically, complemented by time tracking, workload planning, approval workflows and configurable dashboards. It is widely used by marketing departments, professional services organizations and PMOs that coordinate many parallel initiatives.

For AI agents, Wrike matters on two levels: as a structured source of status, deadlines and ownership – and as a place where results can be filed directly as tasks. Questions that would otherwise trigger a round of follow-ups in the team are answered from live data instead of an outdated status report.

How to Connect Wrike to CompanyGPT

Wrike provides an official remote MCP server at mcp.wrike.com/v2. It is generally available and addressed via streamable HTTP. The first endpoint version (v1) has been deprecated – CompanyGPT connects to v2.

Sign-in works either through OAuth 2.0 or through a permanent access token (PAT). In both cases the permissions of the connected Wrike account apply: an agent sees exactly the spaces, folders and projects that this account can open in the interface. For a company-wide rollout, OAuth per user is the cleaner option, because every access stays attributable in Wrike’s audit trail.

You do not need to run a server yourself; Wrike offers the MCP connection as a remote service only. On the CompanyGPT side, your administrators decide by role and group which teams may use the integration and whether they work in read-only or read-write mode.

Typical Use Cases

How AI agents in CompanyGPT work with Wrike

Status reports without chasing people

The PMO asks for the state of a programme and gets a condensed view of open tasks, missed deadlines and owners – pulled from current Wrike data.

Check capacity before committing

Before committing to a new project, a team lead clarifies which tasks are already scheduled for the coming weeks and where capacity is getting tight.

Turn requirements into work packages

From meeting notes or a requirements list, the agent creates structured tasks with description, assignee and due date in the right Wrike folder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Wrike and AI – the most important answers

Is there an official MCP server for Wrike?

Yes. Wrike runs its own, generally available MCP server at mcp.wrike.com/v2, connected via streamable HTTP. The earlier v1 version is deprecated and should no longer be used.

Can we host the Wrike MCP server ourselves?

No, Wrike provides the connection as a remote service only. CompanyGPT still runs in your own cloud tenant and calls the endpoint from there, so no additional third-party infrastructure is introduced.

How do our employees sign in?

Either via OAuth 2.0 with their own Wrike account or with a permanent access token (PAT). For company-wide use, OAuth is the cleaner route because every access remains tied to a specific user.

Can the AI see projects an employee has no access to?

No. Wrike's access rights continue to apply unchanged. An agent can only read the folders, projects and tasks that the connected account is allowed to open in Wrike itself.

Can access be limited to read-only?

Yes. In CompanyGPT your administrators define per agent which MCP tools are enabled. That allows an integration limited to research and reporting, without write access to tasks.
