Use Swat.io with AI via MCP
Editorial planning, approval workflows and community management all come together in Swat.io. The vendor now provides an official remote MCP server for it – currently in beta. CompanyGPT connects to it directly, with no installation of your own required.
What is Swat.io?
Swat.io is a social media management suite from Swat.io GmbH, based in Vienna. The platform covers planning and publishing, community management, monitoring and analytics for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp and other channels. Its hallmark is teamwork: multi-stage approval workflows, roles and a shared editorial calendar. Around 18,000 users work with it.
For AI agents, Swat.io is interesting because two worlds meet there: planned and published content on one side, incoming comments and messages on the other. Being able to query that information means having editorial plans explained, recurring community topics summarized, or copy drafts generated from existing company content.

How to Connect Swat.io to CompanyGPT
Swat.io operates an official remote MCP server at https://mcp.swatio.app/mcp. It is not installed yourself but registered directly as an endpoint. The transport is streamable HTTP, with SSE as a fallback for clients that do not yet support the newer transport.
Sign-in runs through OAuth 2.0. The prerequisite is that API access is enabled for your Swat.io account – a one-off step to arrange with the vendor. The server is currently in beta: scheduling posts is possible, publishing directly through MCP is not. Given the approval workflows Swat.io is built around, that tends to be an advantage rather than a limitation in practice.
In addition, Swat.io’s GraphQL API is available, documented in the developer portal at developer.swatio.app. It is authenticated with a user-level bearer token that you generate in your account settings. We use that route where queries are needed that the MCP server does not cover at its current stage. In CompanyGPT, your administrators govern access to the integration by role and group.
Typical Use Cases
How AI agents in CompanyGPT work with Swat.io
Cluster community topics
The agent summarizes which questions arrived most frequently across channels recently and hands the social media team a topic overview for the next editorial meeting.
Make planning transparent
On request, the agent lists which posts are scheduled for which channel and which content is still awaiting approval – without logging into the tool.
Prepare reply suggestions
For recurring enquiries, reply drafts are generated from approved company content, which community management reviews and publishes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Swat.io and AI – the most important answers
Is there an MCP server for Swat.io?
Yes. Swat.io provides an official remote MCP server at https://mcp.swatio.app/mcp. It is currently in beta and is registered directly as an endpoint, with no installation of your own.
How does authentication work?
Through OAuth 2.0 against Swat.io. The prerequisite is that API access has been enabled for your account. Alternatively, the GraphQL API can be used with a user-level bearer token from your account settings.
Can the agent publish posts itself?
No. At the current beta stage, posts can be scheduled via MCP but not published directly. Since Swat.io is built around approval workflows anyway, publishing stays within your usual approval path.
What data leaves our environment?
CompanyGPT runs in your own cloud tenant and talks to the Swat.io endpoint directly. No further service sits in between; processing inside Swat.io follows your existing contract.
Why is the GraphQL API needed on top?
As a beta, the MCP server does not yet cover every use case. Where broader queries are required, we add them through the documented GraphQL API – authenticated with a token from your account settings.
