Use ServiceNow with AI via MCP
In many organizations, ServiceNow runs the service processes from incident intake to change approval. With the MCP Server Console and AI Action Fabric, ServiceNow ships its own MCP support – and the endpoint lives in your own instance. CompanyGPT connects to it over HTTPS (MCP) and OAuth 2.0.
What is ServiceNow?
ServiceNow is a platform for digitized enterprise processes. Its origins lie in IT service management: incidents, service requests, problems and changes run through defined workflows, supported by a configuration database and a service catalog. Today, processes from HR, facility management or customer service frequently run on the same platform.
For AI agents, ServiceNow is therefore less a knowledge base than a process system: it records which items are open, who owns them and what state they are in. An agent that can read those records – and, where approved, create new ones – shortens exactly the paths that otherwise run through forms and list views.

How to Connect ServiceNow to CompanyGPT
With the MCP Server Console and AI Action Fabric, ServiceNow provides native MCP support. The MCP Server Console is a Store application, new with the Zurich release; for the current feature set ServiceNow states Zurich Patch 9 or Australia Patch 2 as the minimum version. The MCP endpoint is not operated centrally by ServiceNow but lives in your own customer instance.
Sign-in uses OAuth 2.0. Your ServiceNow administrator configures in the console which actions and tables are exposed over MCP and registers the corresponding OAuth application for CompanyGPT. The platform’s roles and access controls remain authoritative: an agent can only see and do what the connected account is entitled to. Licensing is worth checking up front: according to ServiceNow’s documentation, the inbound MCP Server Console is tied to the Prime tier.
In CompanyGPT, your administrators define by role and group which teams may use the ServiceNow integration – the IT service desk with write access, for instance, and business departments read-only. We align the setup with your ServiceNow team.
Typical Use Cases
How AI agents in CompanyGPT work with ServiceNow
Situation picture for the service desk
The agent summarizes open incidents in a category, highlights escalated records and names the most recently documented steps for each.
Change preparation
Ahead of the change advisory board, the agent prepares the upcoming changes – with affected services, time windows and the outcome of comparable earlier changes.
Requests from the business
Employees ask in chat for the status of their service request instead of clicking through the catalog; on request, the agent files a new one.
Frequently Asked Questions
ServiceNow and AI – the most important answers
Does ServiceNow offer official MCP support?
Yes. ServiceNow provides native MCP capability through the MCP Server Console and AI Action Fabric. The MCP Server Console is a Store application, new with the Zurich release; for the current feature set ServiceNow states Zurich Patch 9 or Australia Patch 2 as the minimum version. Per ServiceNow's documentation, the inbound MCP Server Console is also tied to the Prime tier.
Does the MCP server run at ServiceNow or on our side?
The MCP endpoint sits in your instance. CompanyGPT addresses it directly over HTTPS (MCP), with no additional platform in between.
How is access authenticated?
Via OAuth 2.0. Your administrator registers the corresponding OAuth application and uses the MCP Server Console to define which actions are available.
Can the AI close tickets on its own?
Only if you explicitly allow it. Which actions are offered at all is decided in the console; in CompanyGPT an agent can additionally be limited to read-only use.
What if our ServiceNow version is older?
If your instance sits below the required release level, we connect ServiceNow through its existing REST APIs in the interim and expose them as an MCP integration inside your CompanyGPT environment.
