Use Salesforce with AI via MCP
The CRM holds a company's full customer history – spread across accounts, opportunities, activities and cases. Since 29 April 2026, Salesforce has offered official Hosted MCP Servers reachable through a central endpoint. CompanyGPT talks to that endpoint directly, so sales and service teams can ask questions about their own CRM data in plain language.
What is Salesforce?
Salesforce is a cloud platform for customer relationships. Around its sales and service core, companies manage accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities, quotes and support cases. Custom objects, fields and automations extend the platform to individual business processes – from quoting through to contract renewal. Salesforce is used by large enterprises just as much as by mid-sized companies with established sales organizations.
For AI assistants, Salesforce is an unusually well-structured source of facts: who owns which customer, which quotes are open and where a deal last stalled all exist as records rather than as prose buried in a document. An agent that can query these objects answers questions about customer status without anyone having to build a report first.

How to Connect Salesforce to CompanyGPT
Salesforce has been running official Hosted MCP Servers since 29 April 2026, generally available. Access goes through a central endpoint following the pattern https://api.salesforce.com/platform/mcp/v1/<server-name>. The URL is therefore not org-specific – which Salesforce org is addressed follows from the OAuth sign-in via an External Client App, not from the endpoint. CompanyGPT addresses the server over streamable HTTP. A Salesforce edition of Enterprise Edition or above is required.
Authentication runs on OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. Your Salesforce administrator creates an External Client App, enables MCP access for the org and defines which objects and tools are exposed. Sign-in then happens per user, so the familiar permission model – profiles, permission sets, sharing rules – applies unchanged: an agent sees exactly the records the signed-in employee sees in the Salesforce UI.
For development teams there is also the DX MCP server, which runs locally via npx and targets metadata and development tasks. In CompanyGPT, your administrators use roles and groups to decide who may use the Salesforce integration at all – sales and service, for instance, rather than the entire workforce.
Typical Use Cases
How AI agents in CompanyGPT work with Salesforce
Customer briefing before the meeting
Sales gets a summary of the account before the call: open opportunities, the latest activities and any running service cases in one overview.
Pipeline questions without a new report
Sales leadership asks directly for deals by stage, size or close date – and has anomalies in the pipeline explained in context.
Service history in context
In support, the agent clarifies which cases a customer raised recently and how they were resolved, providing the basis for the next reply.
Frequently Asked Questions
Salesforce and AI – the most important answers
Does Salesforce have an official MCP server?
Yes. Salesforce has offered generally available Hosted MCP Servers since 29 April 2026. They are reached through a central endpoint and available from Enterprise Edition upwards.
How do I connect Salesforce to CompanyGPT?
Your Salesforce administrator creates an External Client App and enables MCP access for your org. We configure the central endpoint (https://api.salesforce.com/platform/mcp/v1/<server-name>) in CompanyGPT, after which users sign in via OAuth 2.0 with PKCE using their own Salesforce accounts – that sign-in is also what maps the session to your org.
Does the AI see all CRM data?
No. Because sign-in happens per user, your existing Salesforce permissions continue to apply. An agent can only reach records the signed-in user is authorized for.
Can the AI also change data in Salesforce?
Which actions are possible depends on the tools exposed by the MCP server. In CompanyGPT you can define per agent whether it may only read or also write.
Where does data flow in this setup?
CompanyGPT runs in your own cloud tenant and addresses the Salesforce endpoint directly, with no third-party platform in between. Salesforce itself remains governed by your existing contract.
