Use Plaud with AI via MCP
Plaud is a platform of AI voice recorders such as Plaud Note and Plaud NotePin plus an app that transcribes and summarizes recordings. Since September 2026, Plaud has offered an official MCP server through which AI clients can retrieve recordings, transcripts and notes. CompanyGPT connects to the endpoint mcp.plaud.ai via Streamable HTTP and OAuth – every user signs in with their own Plaud account and works only with their own recordings.
What is Plaud?
Plaud combines hardware and software: the recorders Plaud Note (credit-card sized, attached to the smartphone) and Plaud NotePin (a wearable pin) capture conversations, meetings and calls; the Plaud app transcribes the recordings with speaker recognition and generates AI summaries, action items and topic lists. According to its own privacy policy, the service is operated by Plaud Inc., based in Dover, Delaware. According to Plaud, data is stored in the data center of the respective region; the company names locations in the US, Europe (Frankfurt), Singapore and Japan. For users in Europe, Plaud states that it relies on EU-hosted language model sub-processors. Plaud lists certifications under SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27001 and 27701 and a data processing agreement with standard contractual clauses as part of its terms of service.
For use with AI agents, Plaud is productive because conversation content is already structured: transcripts with timestamps and speaker attribution, summaries, decisions, tasks and highlights the user marked during the recording. An agent in CompanyGPT can draft follow-up emails from this, transfer tasks to other systems, produce weekly overviews or answer questions about past conversations – without employees copying transcripts by hand.

How to Connect Plaud to CompanyGPT
Plaud officially introduced the Plaud MCP server and a command-line interface on September 22, 2026; the associated npm package @plaud-ai/mcp is available in version 0.3.13 of September 17, 2026. For web and server clients, Plaud operates a remote MCP server at https://mcp.plaud.ai/mcp. We checked the endpoint on October 5, 2026: an initialize request without a token is answered with HTTP 401 and a WWW-Authenticate header pointing to the resource metadata at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp. There, Plaud names the authorization server mcp.plaud.ai with authorization code flow, PKCE (S256), refresh tokens and a registration endpoint for dynamic client registration. This is exactly the behavior CompanyGPT expects from a Streamable HTTP server with OAuth 2.1.
Authentication therefore works per user: on first use, CompanyGPT opens the Plaud login page in the browser, the user authorizes access with their Plaud account, and CompanyGPT stores the token encrypted. An agent sees only the recordings of the signed-in user; there is no shared company token. The server provides seven tools: login and logout, get_current_user, list_files for filtering by keyword and date range, get_file with metadata and an audio link valid for 24 hours, get_note for summary, action items and topics, and get_transcript for the full transcript with timestamps and speakers.
One point deserves attention: according to Plaud’s documentation, requests from HTTP-based clients pass through Plaud’s MCP server hosted in the US; the data is processed in transit only and is not stored after the request completes. For recordings with personal or confidential content, this transit path belongs in your data protection assessment – regardless of the fact that, according to Plaud, the recordings themselves are stored in Frankfurt for EU users. If you want meeting transcription to stay entirely within your own tenant, companyTRANSCRIBE offers an alternative inside CompanyGPT; both approaches can be combined.
Setup in Plaud and CompanyGPT
How the connection is set up step by step
Register the MCP server in CompanyGPT
We add https://mcp.plaud.ai/mcp as an OAuth-protected Streamable HTTP server to your CompanyGPT instance. Client registration happens dynamically with the Plaud authorization server; there are no API keys to manage.
Grant access to roles and groups
Your administrators decide which teams see the Plaud server – typically sales, consulting, project management and executives with Plaud devices. All other users are not offered the integration at all.
Users sign in once with their Plaud account
On first use, the Plaud login page opens in the browser. After authorization, CompanyGPT stores the token encrypted; the user sees exclusively their own recordings. With logout the connection can be severed at any time.
Create agents with the appropriate tools
A meeting agent receives the Plaud tools plus, for example, Outlook, HubSpot or Jira. Per agent you define whether only summaries may be read or also full transcripts and audio links.
Test workflows on real recordings
Together we check typical questions – list recent recordings, extract action items, draft a follow-up – before the agent is released to the team.
What the Agent Can Do in Plaud
Functions that Plaud exposes via MCP
Find recordings
- List recordings by keyword, date range and page size
- Retrieve a recording's metadata, including availability of transcript, note and audio
- Download audio via a link valid for 24 hours
Read content
- Retrieve the AI summary with action items and topics as Markdown
- Read the full transcript with timestamps and speaker attribution, paginated for long recordings
- Evaluate highlights marked during the recording
Process further in CompanyGPT
- Extract structured fields such as decisions, tasks and attendees according to a given schema
- Draft follow-up emails, minutes and weekly overviews
- Hand results over to other connected systems, for example tasks to the project tool or notes to the CRM
Typical Use Cases
How AI agents in CompanyGPT work with Plaud
Follow up on a customer meeting
After the on-site visit, sales asks for the outcomes of the conversation. The agent fetches summary and action items from Plaud, drafts the follow-up email in Outlook and creates the tasks in the CRM.
Look up decisions from weekly meetings
The project lead asks what was decided in the weekly about the schedule change. The agent finds the recording, quotes the passage with timestamp and names the people responsible.
Weekly review for management
On Fridays the agent produces an overview from all recordings of the week: conversations, decisions taken, open tasks and topics that came up repeatedly.
Document a consulting session
Consultants have a structured record created from a recording according to a template – concerns, recommendations, next steps – and store it in the document management system.

What Plaud and CompanyGPT secure together
OAuth per user, no company token
Every user authorizes CompanyGPT with their own Plaud account. Tokens are stored encrypted in your CompanyGPT instance and never appear in the chat; the connection can be severed at any time. An agent sees only the recordings of the signed-in user.
Assess transit via US servers deliberately
According to Plaud, requests from HTTP-based clients pass through Plaud's MCP server in the US; the data is processed in transit only and not stored. Which recordings may be retrieved this way should be defined by your data protection assessment – we support you in that.
Roles and tools in CompanyGPT
Your administrators grant the integration selectively and restrict per agent whether only summaries or also full transcripts and audio links may be retrieved. Every action is logged in CompanyGPT and attributed to the user.
Plaud's own commitments
Plaud names encryption in transit and at rest, certifications under SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27001 and 27701, EU-hosted language model sub-processors for European users and a data processing agreement with standard contractual clauses. These statements come from Plaud; obtaining participants' consent to the recording remains your responsibility in any case.
Frequently Asked Questions
Plaud and AI – the most important answers
Does Plaud have an official MCP server?
Yes. Plaud introduced the Plaud MCP server and a command-line interface on September 22, 2026. There is a remote server at mcp.plaud.ai/mcp for web and server clients and the npm package @plaud-ai/mcp for local clients. Plaud names ChatGPT Web, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Gemini CLI and Zed as environments – CompanyGPT connects the same way.
Which transport and authentication does the Plaud MCP server use?
Streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.1. We verified this on October 5, 2026: without a token the server responds with HTTP 401 and points to its OAuth resource metadata; the authorization server supports the authorization code flow with PKCE, refresh tokens and dynamic client registration. Every user signs in with their own Plaud account.
Does an agent see the recordings of all employees?
No. Authentication happens per user via their Plaud account; an agent sees exclusively the recordings of the signed-in user. The Plaud MCP server does not offer a shared company token or tenant-wide access.
Which data does the Plaud MCP server provide?
The list of recordings with filters by keyword and date range, a recording's metadata with an audio link valid for 24 hours, the AI note with summary, action items and topics, and the full transcript with timestamps and speaker attribution, including marked highlights. The server cannot create or edit recordings.
Where are my Plaud recordings stored, and what passes through the US?
According to Plaud, recordings are stored in the data center of the respective region, Frankfurt for Europe, provided cloud sync is enabled. The MCP server for HTTP-based clients is, according to Plaud's documentation, operated in the US and processes data in transit only, without storing it. You should take this transit path into account in your data protection assessment.
Which Plaud plan is required?
In its MCP documentation, Plaud names an active Plaud account as a prerequisite but no specific plan. Whether features such as transcription and summarization are included in your plan is something to clarify directly with Plaud.
Is there an alternative where transcripts never leave our own tenant?
Yes. With companyTRANSCRIBE, CompanyGPT transcribes audio and video files inside your own cloud environment. If you already use Plaud devices, you can combine both: Plaud for mobile recording and summarization, companyTRANSCRIBE for recordings that must not leave the tenant.
Can Plaud be combined with other integrations?
Yes, that is the real benefit. An agent in CompanyGPT can access Plaud, Outlook, your CRM or your project tool at the same time – for example, read a conversation's action items from Plaud and then create them as tasks in Jira or HubSpot.
