Use monday.com with AI via MCP
monday.com maps processes from very different departments onto boards – from the sales pipeline to production planning. The official MCP server makes those boards addressable for CompanyGPT, so analyses and entries happen in the chat rather than in the browser.
What is monday.com?
monday.com is a work management platform from monday.com Ltd. Work is organized on boards: rows (items) carry columns for status, dates, owners, numbers or links to other boards. Because those columns are freely definable, the platform is used in very different ways – as project planning, as a lightweight CRM, for recruiting processes or for order control in manufacturing.
For AI agents, this column logic is exactly what helps: the state of a record is stored in machine-readable form rather than buried in prose. An agent can query boards, analyze across several of them and – where wanted – create items or update status columns without anyone opening the interface.

How to Connect monday.com to CompanyGPT
monday.com operates an official remote MCP server at mcp.monday.com/mcp, reachable via streamable HTTP; the documentation labels it as being in beta. CompanyGPT addresses this endpoint directly – no third-party infrastructure is involved.
Two sign-in paths are available: OAuth for the user-level connection, where each person authorizes with their own monday.com account and works with its permissions, and an API token for technical accounts such as a reporting agent with a fixed, defined scope. In addition, monday.com publishes the MCP server as an npm package, which we can run as a container inside your CompanyGPT environment if required.
Which user groups see the integration at all is controlled by your administrators in CompanyGPT through roles and groups. Per agent you can also define whether reading only or writing as well is permitted – keeping an analysis agent reliably away from changes to productive boards.
Typical Use Cases
How AI agents in CompanyGPT work with monday.com
Keep workload visible
A team lead asks which items are due this week and where work is piling up on individuals – the agent evaluates the relevant boards and answers in the chat.
Turn requests into records
From an incoming customer request, the agent creates a new item on the right board, sets status and ownership and fills the relevant columns.
Report across boards
For the monthly meeting, the agent pulls figures from several boards – open orders, running projects, complaints – into one compact overview.
Frequently Asked Questions
monday.com and AI – the most important answers
Does monday.com have an official MCP server?
Yes. monday.com provides an official remote MCP server at mcp.monday.com/mcp, which the documentation labels as being in beta. Transport is streamable HTTP, and an npm package for self-hosting is available in addition.
Which sign-in methods are supported?
OAuth for user-level sign-in, or an API token for technical accounts. With OAuth, the agent works with the permissions of the respective monday.com account.
Can the agent modify boards?
If the corresponding tools are enabled, it can create items or update columns. CompanyGPT also allows a strictly read-only setup per agent.
How do we prevent everyone from accessing every board?
First, OAuth sign-in respects the existing board permissions in monday.com. Second, your CompanyGPT administrators use roles and groups to decide which user groups can enable the integration at all.
Where is the data processed?
CompanyGPT runs in your own cloud tenant and retrieves board data directly from the monday.com MCP endpoint, without intermediaries. For monday.com as a vendor, your existing contract continues to apply.
