Microsoft Outlook is Microsoft’s email and calendar client, backed by Exchange Online in Microsoft 365. Mailbox, calendar, contacts and tasks are stored server-side in the company tenant and are equally available on the web, desktop and mobile.
This data is immediately useful for AI applications: email threads carry agreements with customers and suppliers, while the calendar provides the timeline. An agent allowed to read both can pull a case together instead of leaving employees to assemble the pieces manually.

How to Connect Microsoft Outlook to CompanyGPT
Outlook is connected through companyM365, our addon for Microsoft 365. It runs as an MCP server over streamable HTTP inside your CompanyGPT environment and accesses messages and calendar entries through Microsoft Graph. No additional Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses are required.
Authorization happens per user via Entra ID: the employee signs in with their Microsoft account, and the agent then acts on their behalf, strictly within their own mailbox and calendar. Your administrators register the application once in the tenant and approve the required Graph permissions – after that, you decide in CompanyGPT by role and group who may enable the Outlook integration.
Microsoft also offers its own “Work IQ” MCP servers for mail and calendar as part of Agent 365. These are in preview and require a Microsoft 365 Copilot license per user. Which option makes sense for you is something we clarify during setup.

How do I connect Outlook to CompanyGPT?

Can an agent read other people's mailboxes?
No. Access is tied to the signed-in user's account. Other employees' mailboxes remain inaccessible unless a delegation already exists in Microsoft 365.
Does the AI send emails on its own?
The scope of functions can be defined per agent. You can restrict the integration to reading, searching and summarizing, so drafts are produced while sending stays with a human.
What should we consider regarding data protection?
