Use FORCAM FORCE with AI via MCP

FORCAM FORCE collects machine and order data directly at the equipment and turns it into metrics such as OEE. There is no MCP server for it – but there is the FORCE Bridge API, an openly documented REST interface on which we build the connection to CompanyGPT as a custom integration.

What is FORCAM FORCE?

FORCAM FORCE is the IIoT and MES platform of FORCAM ENISCO in Ravensburg, Germany, formed by the merger of FORCAM and ENISCO. FORCE EDGE CONNECT handles machine and controller connectivity, FORCE MES FLEX covers shop floor control, OEE analysis and analytics. Depending on the project, the platform runs in the cloud or on-premises at the plant.

The platform is markedly API-oriented: machine states, orders and metrics can be retrieved through a documented interface rather than only through dashboards. That is a good starting point for AI agents, because questions from production management, maintenance and controlling can be answered directly against manufacturing data – without someone having to build a report first.

How to Connect FORCAM FORCE to CompanyGPT

As of August 2026 there is no MCP server for FORCAM FORCE. We therefore build on the FORCE Bridge API: the platform’s open, OpenAPI-described REST interface that exposes machine data, OEE values and order information. Because a machine-readable specification exists, an MCP server can be derived from it that offers the desired queries as tools for the assistant.

We run that server as a container inside your CompanyGPT environment. Authentication against the Bridge API uses OAuth2 with a dedicated technical account whose rights you define. Inside CompanyGPT, your administrators then decide via roles and groups which departments may use the integration.

Whether a network link is required depends on the deployment: for cloud operation API access is sufficient, for on-premises and edge installations we establish the connection together with your IT team. The functional scope – which plants, lines and metrics are visible – is defined upfront with your manufacturing owners.

Note for on-premises operation: CompanyGPT runs in your own Azure tenant – so your on-premises network can be connected directly: via a site-to-site VPN (Azure VPN Gateway) or ExpressRoute between your corporate network and the virtual network of your CompanyGPT environment. The system does not need to be publicly reachable; we set up the connection together with your IT team.

Typical Use Cases

How AI agents in CompanyGPT work with FORCAM FORCE

OEE questions in plain language

Production management asks about the availability of a line last quarter and receives the metric together with an assessment of which factors influenced it most.

Put downtime in context

Maintenance has the longest downtime events of a machine listed and condensed into a short situation report as preparation for root cause analysis.

Take load off reporting

Instead of assembling recurring analyses by hand, controlling retrieves monthly manufacturing metrics and has them drafted as text for the management report.

Frequently Asked Questions

FORCAM FORCE and AI – the most important answers

Does FORCAM FORCE have an official MCP server?

No. Neither FORCAM ENISCO nor the community provides one. The connection is built individually on the FORCE Bridge API, which is documented as an open REST interface.

Why is the FORCE Bridge API well suited for an MCP connection?

Because it is described via OpenAPI. From such a specification we can expose the required queries as structured MCP tools instead of rebuilding every interface by hand.

Do we need a network link into the plant?

That depends on the deployment. If FORCE runs in the cloud, API access is enough. For on-premises or edge installations we establish a secured link between your CompanyGPT environment and the platform.

What data does the AI assistant see?

Only what you release. Access runs through a technical account with defined rights, and the scope can be limited to specific plants, lines or metrics.

Does machine data leave our company?

No. CompanyGPT and the MCP server run in your own cloud tenant. Retrieved data stays within that environment and is not passed on to external services.
