Use Billbee with AI via MCP
Anyone selling through a shop and marketplaces at the same time consolidates every order in Billbee. The vendor does not offer an MCP server so far – so we build the connection to CompanyGPT individually on its documented REST API.
What is Billbee?
Billbee is a multichannel tool from Billbee GmbH in Detmold, aimed at small and mid-sized online retailers. Orders from shop systems and marketplaces such as Shopify, Amazon, eBay or Etsy come together there; the system creates invoices, generates shipping labels, syncs stock levels and automates recurring steps through rules. Billing is usage-based per order.
For AI agents, Billbee is compelling because it holds the cross-channel view of day-to-day operations. Instead of checking several marketplace backends, questions about order status, returns, shipping or invoicing can be answered in one place – and combined with content from other systems.

How to Connect Billbee to CompanyGPT
Billbee currently provides no MCP server; only an experimental community project is in circulation, which we do not recommend for production use.
The connection is built on the REST API, described by a Swagger specification at app.billbee.io/swagger. Authentication combines an API key with HTTP basic auth using a Billbee username and API password. Because a machine-readable specification exists, an MCP integration for CompanyGPT can be generated from it directly.
Which endpoints are enabled is decided together with your team. In practice, read access to orders, articles and shipping data is enough for enquiry and reporting scenarios. Your administrators additionally control in CompanyGPT via roles and groups who may use the integration – customer service and logistics only, for instance.
Typical Use Cases
How AI agents in CompanyGPT work with Billbee
Order enquiries in customer service
When a customer gets in touch, the agent looks up order status, carrier and tracking number across channels and drafts a reply from it.
Daily overview for logistics
The agent summarizes how many orders are open, which are awaiting shipment and where line items are out of stock – a short morning briefing.
Channel performance analysis
Management asks how order volume and returns developed per sales channel and receives a summary without manual exports.
Frequently Asked Questions
Billbee and AI – the most important answers
Is there an MCP server for Billbee?
No. The vendor does not offer one, and the community repository that exists is experimental. For CompanyGPT we use the documented REST API with its Swagger specification instead.
How is access set up?
An API account with an API key and API password is created in Billbee. Those credentials are stored exclusively in your CompanyGPT environment and can be rotated at any time.
Can the agent modify orders or create invoices?
Only if you enable the corresponding endpoints. For enquiries and reporting we recommend starting with read access; write functions are added where a process requires them.
What about customer data contained in orders?
Orders contain personal data. We therefore restrict the integration to the fields actually needed, and CompanyGPT processes them exclusively inside your own cloud tenant.
Is the integration especially worthwhile with many sales channels?
Particularly then. Billbee already consolidates the channels, so a single connection is enough to answer questions spanning shop and marketplaces.
