CompanyGPT Integration MCP server: streamable HTTP

Use ActiveCampaign with AI via MCP

ActiveCampaign is where marketing automation meets sales – contacts, deals and automation flows live in one system. The vendor provides an official remote MCP server for it, with an account-specific URL. CompanyGPT connects to it directly, with no installation of your own.

What is ActiveCampaign?

ActiveCampaign is a platform for marketing automation, email marketing and sales. Its feature set includes a visual automation builder, campaigns and forms, lead scoring and a built-in sales CRM with deals and pipelines. The vendor is based in Chicago and targets small and mid-sized businesses in particular.

For AI use the platform is doubly interesting: it holds marketing metrics as well as sales-side information about contacts and opportunities. An agent can bring both together and answer questions that would otherwise require two separate reports – such as which automation recently produced qualified leads, or how a contact has engaged with campaigns so far.

How to Connect ActiveCampaign to CompanyGPT

ActiveCampaign operates an official remote MCP server. Its URL is account-specific and is shown in your account under Settings → Developer. You register it as an endpoint in CompanyGPT; no installation of your own is needed.

The connection is established through a login and approval flow: on first connect, an authorized person signs in to ActiveCampaign and confirms the access. The scope therefore hangs on a traceable identity rather than an anonymous shared key.

Alongside it, the classic REST API v3 remains available, documented at developers.activecampaign.com and authenticated with an API key in the Api-Token header. We use that route for queries the MCP server does not cover and for automations through a gateway – the platform ships ready-made connectors for n8n, Make and Zapier, and innFactory operates n8n for customers as a dedicated service. In every variant, your administrators decide in CompanyGPT via roles and groups who may use the integration.

Typical Use Cases

How AI agents in CompanyGPT work with ActiveCampaign

Contact history before the call

Ahead of a sales meeting, the agent summarizes which campaigns a contact received, what they responded to and which pipeline stage the related deal sits in.

Review automations

Marketing has the agent explain how many contacts passed through an automation flow and at which steps they typically drop off – a basis for optimization.

Support data hygiene

The agent finds unassigned contacts, duplicate records or incomplete fields and returns a list the team can work through in a targeted way.

Frequently Asked Questions

ActiveCampaign and AI – the most important answers

Is there an official MCP server for ActiveCampaign?

Yes. ActiveCampaign provides a remote MCP server. You find the matching URL in your account under Settings → Developer; it is individual to each account.

How is the connection authenticated?

Through a login and approval flow: when connecting, an authorized person signs in to ActiveCampaign and confirms the access. For the classic REST API v3, an API key in the Api-Token header is used instead.

Can the AI modify contacts or deals?

Only if you enable write tools. By default we recommend read access for research and reporting, adding write functions only where a process genuinely needs them.

What about personal data?

ActiveCampaign holds contact data that is relevant under data protection law. We therefore restrict the integration to the fields and objects actually required; CompanyGPT processes them inside your own cloud tenant.

What is the REST API v3 still needed for?

For queries the MCP server does not cover, and for automations through a gateway such as n8n, Make or Zapier. A gateway is quick to set up and fits well-defined, recurring workflows.
