As of October 2026. AI models have short lifecycles: providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Google replace their models every few months and shut down older versions after a transition period. This page brings together what the individual model pages list as legacy, deprecated or retired.
For migrations, note that shutdown dates of the provider API and of cloud platforms can differ. What counts is always the documentation of the channel through which you use the model. Details, successors and breaking changes are in the “Model lifecycle” section of each model page.
